200 Joint Personnel Deployed to Maintain Order in North Jakarta

As many as 200 personnel gathered for a Cross-Sector Synergy Assembly at Artha Gading Mall, North Jakarta, under the theme 'Creating a Safe, Peaceful, and Conducive Region.'

North Jakarta Mayor Hendra Hidayat noted that the event reflects a shared commitment to strengthening synergy for security and public order.

"While the city administration remains neutral, it respects the public's democratic right to express aspirations, provided they do so peacefully and according to the law," he expressed, Thursday (8/27).

He emphasized that every unit involved is responsible for ensuring community life proceeds smoothly without hindering public services or resident safety.

He called on the personnel to maintain coordination and communication while employing a humanistic approach during operations.

"Steer clear of anything that might cause misunderstandings or escalations on the ground. Conduct yourselves with professionalism and proportionality," he explained.

He urged the public to help maintain a peaceful environment, resist provocation, and be cautious when processing unverified information.

"Thank you to all the personnel on the front lines. Let us join forces to ensure Jakarta remains secure, harmonious, and conducive," he concluded.

Meanwhile, Military District 0502/North Jakarta Commander, Col. (Inf.) Mohammad Syaifuddin Fanany, stated that the hundreds of personnel on standby consist of elements from the army/police, Satpol PP, Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB), community groups, and representatives of online motorcycle taxi drivers.

"We're deploying these personnel to assist with security, particularly during the peak of protests if additional reinforcements are required," he explained.

According to him, personnel have been positioned strategically for rapid deployment whenever necessary.

Beyond anticipating demonstration points, some are also on standby at crowded public hubs, such as malls, tourist spots, harbors, and arterial roads.

"It aims to guarantee public security and peace of mind. If the situation remains calm, residents can remain productive without worry. Please stay calm and join us in keeping Jakarta safe," he concluded.
